As the new section of the Pacific Highway opened today at Warrell Creek there was a collective sense of relief and reflection in the crowd.

Attending the opening of the last 6km section built by Pacifico were many Mid North Coast emergency services personnel who for decades have held call-outs to Warrell Creek as being synonymous with tragedy.

The opening of this last stretch of dual carriageway marks the end of the $830 million Warrell Creek to Nambucca Heads project.

It also signals completion of the $3.3 billion in Pacific Highway works between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour.
