The Coffs Coast hits the world stage in coming weeks with new a ALPG tournament, the Australian Ladies Classic, played at Bonville Golf Resort during February 22-25.
The following week over March 1-4, the Women’s NSW Open will be centred on Coffs Harbour Golf Club.
Bonville has secured the rights to the Classic for the next five years while the Open is making a return to Coffs for the first time since 2015.
Both events are destined to boost tourism for the region acting as huge economic drivers and benefiting local businesses including accommodation, tourism and hospitality providers.
It is estimated the events will attract 16,000 international and domestic visitors and contribute more than $8 million to the NSW economy by 2022.
John Barilaro, Minister for Regional NSW, said Golf NSW in partnership with Destination NSW, the state government’s tourism and major events agency, secured these for the Coffs Coast.
“When you’ve got a golf course like Bonville and you add to that a great tournament like the Australian Ladies Classic for the next five years, you have an opportunity not just to promote the sport itself, not just Bonville and Coffs Harbour, but exactly what regional NSW is about,” the Minister said.
Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a premium partner.
We urge the community to get behind the tournaments, assisting to cement the Coffs Coast’s future as an ideal regional event destination.
