Group training is a risk and stress free means of employing apprentices and trainees. Designed to keep things simple for the businesses, Group Training is an arrangement where the Group Training Organisation (GTO) employs the apprentice or trainee and carefully matches that individual with a suited host employer for on-the-job-training and supervision.
The GTO assumes the employer responsibilities and includes;
• Initial recruitment (including interviewing and aptitude testing),
• Inductions and pre-employment checks and medicals,
• Training contract establishment and other relevant paperwork,
• WHS training and obligations,
• Payroll and leave entitlements,
• Insurance, Work Cover and workers compensation claims,
• Performance management (including liaison with TAFE/formal training providers) and ongoing mentoring and assistance by a dedicated field officer to ensure quality, continuity and success throughout the entire apprenticeship or traineeship.
