Well here we are at the end of another year, and what a year it has been here in the beautiful Coffs Harbour area.
There is much happening in and around the area from a business point of view and the Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce is working hard to represent its members and the business community to ensure that Coffs Harbour makes the most of opportunities that is has.
I have been a member of the Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce for a number of years and attended many functions and activities hosted by the Chamber, but I was not aware until I became a Board member 6 months ago how much more the Chamber does on behalf of the members that it represents and the local community.
The Chamber Board meets monthly and communicates on a weekly basis as the need arises.
In the last six months there have been a number of members requiring assistance in matters directly affecting their businesses, and in some instances where necessary Chamber Board members and Sub Committees have met with Council and Government Departments at a State and Federal level to try and bring outcomes or resolution of complex matters.
There seems to be a misconception that the Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce is just for big business and that small businesses will not benefit from being a member. That is certainly not the case and I have witnessed firsthand a number of smaller businesses that have benefited greatly from being a member.
Some of the main benefits my business has been able to access as a member of the Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce includes Relationship Building by attending regular networking opportunities and events where your business can gain valuable exposure, VIP invitations and early bird notifications about the Chamber’s training opportunities workshops and seminars and being able to access Free Business Services and Advice through the NSW Business Chamber.
Most importantly, the Chamber is the voice of local business and raises issues that affect your business at a local, state and federal government level. Through regular Facebook updates and newsletters Chamber members are provided with relevant and valuable information, insights and opportunities for their business.
Over the recent months the Chamber has been very busy planning for its 2019 member activities which includes Breakfast meetings, Networking Events , Chamber Golf Day at the beautiful Bonville course , Sunny’s Business Awards and our Business Expo to name a few.
If you have a business, be it small or large, and you aren’t already a member of the Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce, we invite you to join at any time and take advantage of the opportunities that are available. Our website contains all the necessary contact and membership information to assist you.
